Who and Why?

Joyce & Louise is a collaboration between Cass Moris of Fig + Salt and Cassie Lucas of Firecracker.  

Cass Morris established Fig + Salt in 2012 and is a recipe creator, a caterer and food stylist (all self taught!).  Having worked with the likes of Brown Brothers, Kinfolk, Maxwell Williams, Stephanie Somebody and Hooray Magazine, Cass has quickly established herself as a creative, generous and clever caterer in Melbourne.  Her philosophy is a bit of that, a bit of this, yin and yang and believes that they key to a great dish is balance. 

Cassie Lucas considers herself an assembler of produce, props and people for your special events.  Firecracker was established in 2012 as a way to combine Cassie's passion for design, quality produce and connecting with people through food. She has worked with The Design Files, Megan Morton and The School, Frankie Magazine, Kinfolk, Dumbo Feather and Mimco and believes the key to making good food is love. 

Having developed a friendship through the industry of creatives that are building businesses with heart, and supporting each other on projects for Frankie Magazine, Slow Living, multiple weddings and events  - Joyce and Louise is the latest adventure for Figsy and Firecracker. 

WHY?

We have a love for parties and picnics, weddings, workshops, lunches and launches; but this is a chance to work together, have some fun and create some hearty winter dishes. 

Our nearest and dearest are always telling us that they don't have time to shop for food, cook and clean up so we have taken the hard work out and decided to go public. 

Our concept is to allow you a place that is trustworthy and wholesome to be able to purchase good food for yourself and/or your family (or a new mum or the neigbour or an elderly relative or your best friend who works too much – you get the drift). Food that has ingredients procured with integrity and recipes that have been developed with deep thought and heart. 

We have intentionally developed food that freezes well so order in multiples to stock up. 

Our food is honest, real, simple, and tasty. It’s what underpins both our businesses and we know you’ll agree.
